Are 24/7 on-call rotations now expected

Most postings I’m seeing bundle user support with overnight maintenance and a 1:4 PagerDuty rotation; in my last role we did Sunday 1–5 a.m. patch windows and held a 15-minute response SLO. For those hiring or doing the job, what’s a reasonable rotation and comp for sustained on-call plus daytime ticket queues?

For ‘1:4’ and Sunday 1–5 a.m., negotiate comp time and $250/week.

With “1:4”, a 15‑minute SLO, and a Sunday 1–5 a.m. window, I’d only take it with a 10–15% base uplift plus a hard rule: when you’re primary, you’re off the daytime queue and you get recovery hours after any page between 12–5 a.m. @tdawson07’s $250/week is fine as a floor, but pair it with a page budget (median <2/week) and true secondary coverage so you’re not solo.
